Ballon d’Or 2022 Nominees List The most prestigious individual football award is given by the French magazine, and the nominees for the men’s and women’s Ballon d’Or will be announced live on L’Equipe from 17:30 to 20:00 UK time. In addition, the shortlists for the Yashin Trophy, given to the best goalkeeper, and the Kopa Trophy, granted to the best player under the age of 21, will be made public.

The 2022 Ballon d’Or candidates have been revealed as a 30-man list. Lionel Messi, a seven-time winner of the Ballon d’Or, did not make the cut for this year’s prestigious football honor.

Messi, who took home the trophy last year, has consistently been nominated since 2006 and, with the exception of 2018, had consistently been in the top three.
