2021 Chelsea new player acquisitions
Due to Roman Abramovich’s suspension in 2022, Chelsea changed ownership. Due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the Roman Abramovich era came to an end last season. The Chelsea Football Club was purchased by Todd Boehly, who also owns the LA Dogers baseball team, and he intends to make a “big investment” this summer to boost Chelsea’s transfer activity.
The urge to strengthen has only risen since there are grave concerns that the club has been playing “catch-up” after being unable to add new players in previous months owing to financial restrictions.
Two senior players have already departed on free transfers, and it appears that many more will follow them. That means that it will be challenging just to bring the team back to where it was, let alone improving it.
After a successful season in 2021–2022, Chelsea made another investment in Thomas Tuchel. Chelsea advanced to the FA Cup and League Cup finals but fell to Liverpool. He has played young youngsters as well as academy stars. He has also introduced a new footballing philosophy to the Bridge but not yet any Chelsea FC transfers list 2022.
