It was agreed on March 17, 2020 that the UEFA European Championships (EURO) 2020 would be postponed by one year and held from June 11 to July 11, 2021 instead of the planned dates of June 12 to July 12, 2020. It was Italy’s second European Championship victory over England in the final, which was played in front of more than 60,000 spectators at Wembley Stadium.

13 nations were initially selected to host games during EURO 2020. Aleksander eferin, president of UEFA, however, declared in March 2021 that matches would only be conducted in arenas that permitted spectators in accordance with the relevant government’s coronavirus laws.
