As one of Tanzania’s most successful football clubs, Young Africans Sports Club has a long history of winning trophies both locally and internationally. It is also counted among the most valuable clubs in East Africa.

Young Africans Sports Club, headquartered in Jangwani, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, was founded in 1935. The club’s nickname is “Timu ya Wananchi” or “Yanga” and it plays its home games at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium. Young Africans is one of the two biggest clubs in Tanzania.

The club has won 27 league titles and four local cups, participated in a number of editions of the African Champions League, and is one of the biggest clubs in East Africa, having won the CECAFA Club Championship five times.

The Young Africans Club was popular among young Africans, who used it as a symbol of their anti-colonial movement. The colors yellow and green were adopted by the Tanganyika African National Union as its primary colors, which were inspired by the club’s colors.
