Halifax Wanderers FC Players and Fixtured is another name for the Canadian professional soccer team, HFX Wanderers Football Club, which is based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
TheHalifax Wanderers FC Players and Fixtured its home games at Wanderers Grounds and participates in the Canadian Premier League, the top division of Canadian soccer leagues.
In a friendly match against Fortuna Düsseldorf’s under-21 team on July 28, 2018, HFX Wanderers FC fielded an Atlantic Selects team at Wanderers Grounds. After a 2-2 result in regulation, the Atlantic Selects prevailed on penalties. 4,809 people showed up in all.
Owner Derek Martin of Sports & Entertainment Atlantic met with representatives of the Canadian Premier League in December 2016 to talk about establishing a franchise in Halifax. Halifax City Council members were presented with Martin’s proposal for a temporary stadium in March 2017, and three months later they approved it. Halifax was one of four organizations that the Canadian Soccer Association approved for professional club membership on May 5, 2018.
On May 25, 2018, HFX Wanderers FC was formally introduced as the third team to enter the Canadian Premier League. The team unveiled its crest, colors, and logo in addition to securing its position in the league for the 2019 debut season Halifax Wanderers FC Players and Fixtured.
