The CECAFA U17 Championship in 2022 will be the fifth CECAFA U-17 Championship conducted by CECAFA (Council of East and Central Africa Football Association). It will be held in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia, from September 30 to October 19, 2022. As the tournament’s two finalists represented CECAFA in the CAF U-17 continental championship, this competition also functioned as a CECAFA qualifier for the 2023 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.

Djibouti and Sudan were eliminated from the competition on October 1 because several of its players failed the MRI exam, leaving Group B with only two teams. [4].
