The CECAFA U-17 Championship is a football tournament organized by CECAFA. Held annually, it includes national under 17 teams from East and Central Africa.

CECAFA is the continent’s oldest sub-regional football organization and a member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Concerning the Statutes Revision, the Council stated that the present statutes and regulations have served CECAFA effectively. However, with the changing environment, the old rules must be updated to include dynamism and deal with indiscipline effectively.
Dr. Mutasim, the new chairman of CECAFA, has committed to restructure the organization and guarantee that it competes on an equal basis with the rest of Africa’s zones.

CECAFA was informally established in 1927. The tournament was sponsored by Gossage, a prominent Nairobi-based soap manufacturer owned by the British Lever Brothers. Its origins are sometimes misattributed to William Gossage, the founder of the Gossage firm. He died, however, 50 years before the CECAFA was founded.
Until the mid-1960s, the competition was known as the “Gossage Cup,” before being renamed the “East African Challenge Cup.” It was made up of only 12 teams.
Matokeo ya Serengeti Boys U-17 CECAFA 2022 The CECAFA headquarters are in Nairobi, Kenya. The first competition was held between Kenya and Uganda, with the Kenyan team winning both legs 3-1 on aggregate.
Meanwhile, Musonye, who spent the new year in Sudan, visited North Gordofan State as a guest of the State Governor on Saturday and Sunday and started the Sudan Youth Competition in El Obeid City, 600 miles north of Khartoum. North Gordofan’s Governor has promised to hold a CECAFA competition at the freshly reconstructed Stadium.
