The visitors were happy to let Namungo have possession in midfield and didn’t panic when they lost it. This allowed them to defend deep with two banks of four players ready to break forward at any opportunity.

Namungo began to tire as the game went on, though, and Mbeya City took advantage of this. They started to play more direct passes out of defence and midfield, looking to get the ball into their forwards quickly. This allowed them to create chances by exploiting gaps in the Namungo midfield
