The UEFA Men’s Player of the Year Award or Mchezaji Bora Wa UEFA Wa Mwaka 2022, formerly known as the UEFA Best Player in Europe Award, is presented to the football player from a men‘s club in Europe who is deemed to have performed at the highest level throughout the previous season of club and national team competition.
The European Footballer of the Year Award (Ballon d’Or) was intended to be revived when the award was first established in 2011 by UEFA in collaboration with the European Sports Media (ESM) group.
which, in 2010, became the FIFA Ballon d’Or after being combined with the FIFA World Player of the Year Award. The UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award was likewise replaced by it.
