MTV EMA 2022 Vote Africa Jinsi Ya Kupiga Kura, You, the audience, will have the ability to choose the winners of the majority of our awards during this year’s MTV EMA. These are the “2022 MTV EMAs” voting rules and regulations in full force (the “Official Voting Rules”).
The MTV EMA and all connected matters, including as the choice of nominations, handling of voting, and award presentation, will be managed by ViacomCBS Networks International, a part of Viacom International, Inc. (“VCNI”).

1. Categories
There are sixteen (16) main categories (“Main Categories”) and twenty-six (26) best local act categories (“Local Categories”) open for voting, as detailed in Section 8.
The award for Best Video is chosen by the MTV Music Editorial Team and is not eligible for voting.
VCNI reserves the right to add additional categories and voting methods at a later date.
2. Eligibility
At the time of voting, voters must be thirteen (13) years of age or older and cannot be an employee, agent, or representative of VCNI, or any of its parent companies, affiliates or related companies. Minors must obtain the consent of their parent or legal guardian in order to participate. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW.
3. How to Vote and Voting Period
Follow the Voting Method instructions below to submit your votes for your nominee preferences during the applicable Voting Period (as detailed below). There is no limit on the number of votes you can submit on MTV EMA 2022 Vote Africa Jinsi Ya Kupiga Kura.

Main Categories
The voting period for the Main Categories, except for (i) Biggest Fans, Best Group (ii) and (iii) Best Video, starts on October 20, 2022 at 12:00 PM CET and ends on November 10, 2022 at 11:59 PM CET.

Voting Steps
ONLINE: Submit your nominee preferences during the applicable voting period, as set forth above, by visiting mtvema.com/vote/. Click the “Vote” button adjacent to the nominee’s image or video.
SOCIAL VOTE: Head over to the @MTVEMA’s Instagram story. Click on ‘Tap to vote’ on the nominee of your liking. Upon voting, a Thank You page will confirm your vote was counted.
For “Best Group”, voting will also be open on @MTV’s Instagram story during the same voting window as above.
For the Biggest Fans category, vote will be open for all 5 nominees on Nov 13 but only the top two nominees will make it to Nov 14. Vote will reset on Nov 14 for fans to vote on the winner via “Tap to Vote” in @MTVEMA’s Instagram Story (each such social vote an “IG Social Vote“).
