SA Student Application Form 2022/2023: The College of Cape Town (CCT) is a public TVET college with its major student population coming from the Klipfontein District, the Southern Suburbs, and the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, South Africa. One of Cape Town’s oldest TVET institutes is the college. Since CCT was established in 1900, it is the country’s oldest TVET institution.

The total number of students at CCT across all campuses is around 11 233. The institution provides career-oriented vocational and occupational programs in a variety of subjects as a TVET college. Nine campuses are run by CCT College around the Western Cape Province.

It was established in 1900 as a regular high school, and in 2002 it received its current name. Its original purpose after becoming a college was to educate Black and Colored South Africans pursuing university education.

Following the South African government’s decision to rationalize TVET colleges, which led to the reduction of 150 colleges in South Africa to about 50, four former technical colleges—Athlone College, Cape College, Sivuyile College, and Maitland Technical College/Western Province Technical College—officially merged on February 1, 2002, to become the College of Cape Town.
