The Teaching Council of Zambia is a Statutory Body established in accordance with the Teaching Profession Act No.5 of 2013. It is a corporate body established to regulate the Teaching Profession through registration of Teachers and accreditation of all Colleges of Education.
The Council is an independent body, which regulates the profession of teaching for the purpose of safeguarding the interests of students and improving standards in education. Also its perform functions such as registration, recruitment, transfer, promotion, discipline and termination of employment of teachers in the Public Service.
Functions of Teaching Council of Zambia
The Teaching Council is the official regulator of the teaching profession and promotes professional standards. It protects students by setting high requirements that teachers must meet before being allowed to teach.
The Teaching Council aims to ensure that all teachers are qualified, competent and professional. It does this by ensuring that teachers have the necessary qualifications and experience before they start teaching, by assessing them regularly during their careers and by investigating complaints made against them.
How do I get a Tcz registration?
Fill out the application form completely, attach your Grade 12 verification results, verified professional documents, authorized registration card, and a receipt, and submit it (proof of payment). Send the application form to your local DBS office. Every molasses in the country contains a TCZ focal point.
How much is the Tcz registration fee?
College lecturers will pay K631 and K1,500 for non-Zambians; administrators K661, while non-Zambians will pay K1,500. Student registration will attract a K100 fee for both Zambians and non-Zambians.
