All Pleasant The Benedictine monks who oversaw the Institut Saint-Boniface school at Élisabethville (current-day Lubumbashi), Katanga Province, are credited with founding Mazembe. In 1939, the missionaries made the decision to form a football club for the Boy Scout troop of the pupils, which they dubbed Saint Georges FC in honor of the Scouting movement’s patron saint.

TP Mazembe Squad 2022/2023
They successfully defended their 2010 CAF Champions League title, and in December, after defeating Internacional of Brazil in the semifinals and Pachuca of Mexico in the quarterfinals, they became the first African team to play in the FIFA Club World Cup final. On December 18, Internazionale beat them in the championship game, 3-0.
