Due to the climate in the host nation of Qatar, the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be contested between November 21 and December 18, hence there will be a long break in the league schedule. The final Bundesliga matchday before the break is set for November 11–13 because national team players must be released by their clubs by November 14, 2022. (matchday 15).

On January 20, 2023, 10 weeks later, the league will restart. The schedule was released on June 17, 2022.
