Wellington Phoenix FC Live Score, Schedule and Results, New Zealand, there is a professional association football team called Phoenix Football Club. Under license from the Football Federation of Australia, it participates in the Australian A-League.
Phoenix joined the Australian A-League in the 2007-08 season after being founded by New Zealand Football in March 2007 to take the position of the New Zealand Knights as a New Zealand-based team.
The team is one of the few in the world to play in a league run by the AFC, which is not the same confederation as the nation in which it is headquartered (OFC).
The club’s greatest accomplishment was making it to the 2010 A-League Preliminary Final. The team usually holds its games in Wellington’s 34,500-seat Sky Stadium (previously Westpac Stadium), but due to travel restrictions brought on by the COVID-19 epidemic, the club has temporarily relocated to Wollongong in Australia. Their uniform at home is striped in black and yellow.
